U.S. Navy Non-Rigid Airships: L-1
The L-1, a 123,000 cubic foot airship, developed from commercial design, was delivered to the U. S. Navy in April 1938. It and 21 other L-ships served principally as primary trainers in the World War II lighter-than-air program.
