Hotel Information

The primary or "headquarters" hotel selected for the reunion, the Akron West Hilton Inn, offers first-class facilities and amenities. It is conveniently located near mall shopping, more than 50 restaurants and an interstate highway.

The Akron West Hilton is currently undergoing a complete renovation, and all of its rooms and suites will have been refurbished and modernized by February 1997. It will meet or exceed all of the most stringent Hilton franchise requirements for excellence in corporate and convention accommodation and service.

The Akron West Hilton's Ballroom seats nearly 600. Additional meeting rooms will be used for Ready Room, hospitality center, video theater and a computer center.

The Days Inn Akron/Fairlawn, adjacent to the Akron Hilton West, is our overflow hotel. There is ample free parking for guests at the HQ hotel and adjacent Days Inn.

The headquarters hotel offers its guests the use of an indoor and outdoor pool, a well-equipped weight and exercise room, saunas, and whirlpool bath -- all free of charge. The services of a trained massotherapist are also available.

Both the headquarters and auxiliary hotel are directly across the street from a large shopping mall with food court, specialty shops and department stores. Other retail and several national discount stores are nearby.

More than 50 restaurants are located within three miles of the host hotel. Choices range from fast-food burgers and pizza to elegant formal dining. Cuisine includes Mexican, Chinese, Italian, Greek, and others. There are specialty steakhouses, rib restaurants, a vegetarian eatery, omelette shop, ice cream and yogurt shops, sports bars, and more.

Hopefully, no one attending the NAA Reunion will require it, but if need be, Emergency Medical Service is stationed less than one mile away. Two walk-in clinics may be found within a few blocks, and three metropolitan full-service hospitals are only minutes away. Several nearby drug stores offer 24-hour emergency pharmacy service. Dental clinics, one-hour prescription eye wear stores and other professional medical services are located within one mile of the headquarters hotel.
