The program will include:
Thursday, Sept. 8: Reception, 1800 hrs. – Casual dress – Heavy hors d’oeuvres – Cash bar
Friday, Sept. 9: A trip to the Oregon coast to visit the WW II NAS Tillamook base, now an aviation museum, plus a visit to the famous Tillamook Cheese factory. Museum admission, lunch and guided tour $16.95 (pay at door)
Saturday, Sept. 10: A trip to McMinnville to see the Howard
Hughes “Spruce Goose” giant seaplane at the Evergreen Aviation Museum. Admission
$6.00 (pay at door)
A visit to the American Blimp Corp plant, a unique FAA certified airship
production facility in nearby Hillsboro.
Sunday, Sept.11: Members’ meeting A.M., Banquet: Reception 1800, Dinner 1900 hrs.
Other interesting sites and tours in and about Portland may be available. Portland is called the “City of Roses” with many parks and gardens and no sales tax.
